With the floods sweeping south, thousands of people were rendered homeless as heavy rains continued to lash Sindh and water levels rose further in the swollen Indus River. Massive water flow of 1,130,000 cusecs now heads to Kotri Barrage. People fled in whatever they could, carrying goats and all sort of possible luggage. Roads were submerged in several places and at least 35 of the low lying villages were under water in Sukkur.The Indus River is in extremely high flood in the Guddu and Sukkur barrages. Widespread rains are also expected over lower Sindh in the coming days. Immense pressure on the Sukkur Barrage with 1,184,200 cusecs of water flowing downstream and 1,168,500 upstream may cause breaches in the barrages which would cause further devastation, all major districts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Khairpur, Nawabshah , Sangar, Dadu and Hyderabad will witness flooding.The River Nari in Balochistan is being seen in high floods at Kachi place following entry of 80,000 cusecs of floodwater tide at Nari Bank near Sibbi. Meanwhile, flood warning has been issued in Sibbi and Kachi villages as 10 villages have been inundated in Loni locality of Loralai, trapping hundreds of people in floodwater. Several mud-made houses have been washed away in villages across Sibbi, prompting authorities to dispatch rescue teams comprising FC personnel into affecteed areas. The district administration has issued flood warnings in villages abutting Sibbi, which included Machri, Haji Sher, Looni and others while residents have been ordered to vacate the villages.Only few of the flood victims were provided camps and other relief goods but the rest are still waiting for aid under the open sky. Many people have moved to safer areas after the flood reached several cities of the province.
