Summary LHC declared the notification as illegal after which ECP has decided to move Supreme Court

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Monday announced to move Supreme Court (SC) against Lahore High Court’s (LHC) decision to allow Prime Minister and other members of national and provincial assemblies to take part in NA-122 by-election campaign, reported Dunya News.

According to details, ECP had banned PM and all the other members of the assembly to take part in the election campaign, against which the government had moved LHC. The court struck down the notification by ECP terming it illegal. Secretary ECP announced moving Supreme Court against LHC’s decision. He said that the candidates will be called and will not only be briefed over violation of the code of conduct but will be warned also.

Babar Yaqoob told that installing CCTV cameras has been allowed and printing process is underway in army’s supervision. He said that ECP is working impartially and that elections based on biometric system is not possible right now.
