Summary Chairman Senate says MQM members resigned as protest and were politically motivated
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani has on Sunday said that constitutions doesn’t allow approving the resignations by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He said that the MQM members resigned as protest and their resignations were politically motivated, reported Dunya News.
Ruling over MQM resignations, Raza Rabbani said that Chairman Senate and Speaker National Assembly are bound to follow the rules and constitution. He said that the custodian of the house needs to verify the resignations from the members in person. He said that he couldn’t accept the resignations due to the rules.
Rabbani said that there were still some questions that needed to be answered. “We need to know if MQM members resigned by will or under pressure”, said Rabbani.
