NA-122: CCTV cameras to be deployed at every polling station
Meeting was held to review arrangements under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Secretary Election Commission has said on Monday that CCTV cameras will be deployed at every polling station in NA-122 by-elections. Those who do not abide by the code of conduct will have strict action taken against them, said the Secretary.
A meeting was held to review arrangements under the chairmanship of the Chief Election Commissioner for local body elections. Secretary Election Commission, IG Punjab, all District Police Officers (DPOs) and returning officers took part in the meeting.
Briefing the meeting, Secretary Election Commission said that CCTV cameras will be deployed at every polling station in NA-122 by-elections adding that there will be no compromise on violation of code of conduct. Secretary Election Commission of Punjab said that in 4 districts of Punjab, returning officers have recommended the deployment of the army and Rangers.
He said that final decision would be taken in the meeting. He said that in order to hold free and fair local body elections to all resources will have to be utilized.
