Saad Rafique, Marvi Memon, Abid Sher Ali served notices for NA-122 campaigning

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Returning Officer (RO) in NA-122 constituency of Lahore on Monday issued notices to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khawaja Saad Rafique, Marvi memon and Abid Sher Ali for participating in election campaign.
The RO has also summoned reply from the trio on October 6.
According to the RO, ministers cannot take part in campaigning and are not permitted to deliver speech in favour of the candidates.
While talking to Dunya News, Abdi Sher Ali said that party workers can’t be abstained from participating in the election campaign whereas decision on the RO’s notice will be taken after consultation.
On the other hand, secretary Election Commission Babar Yaqoob has said that processions and corner meetings are a significant part of democracy however; the use of government machinery in by-polls will be examined.
