Summary Maulana Jamaluddin and Senator Saleh Shah of JUI spoke in front of the Tribal Jirga
DI KHAN (Dunya News) -- Grand tribal Jirga has decided that the decision to merge or separate tribal areas from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province will be decided after a referendum.
A grand tribal jirga was held in Haq Nawaz park in which the separation of tribal areas was discussed. All the elders, scholars and tribal people of 7 agencies participated in the meeting. Tribal elders strongly disagreed with the resolution that was submitted in the parliament regarding the merging or separating of the area with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province adding that a referendum on the topic would be the only viable step.
Maulana Jamaluddin and Senator Saleh Shah of JUI also spoke in front of the Tribal Jirga. Senator Saleh Shah said that the tribal people are at war and are displaced from home. He said that first people should be settled in their homes after which a grand jirga would be held to discuss on such a topic.
He said that the purpose of igniting the issue is to try to divert attention from real issues faced by tribal areas. Maulana Jamaluddin said that until the residents are resettled no real reforms can be introduced.
