NEW YORK: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has on Sunday said that Pakistan is yet to achieve poverty alleviation targets. He said that it is everyone’s duty to make this world a better place to live, reported Dunya News.
Addressing a meeting at the United Nations for approval of development agenda, PM Nawaz said that the approval of the agenda for 2015 is a commitment to keep everyone together for the development across the globe. He said that solid measures need to be taken for achieving the development goals. He said that the agenda for development after 2015 is just the beginning of the change. He said that the goal of poverty alleviation is yet to be achieved and solid measures are required to achieve it.
Nawaz said that it access to energy and basic infrastructure is essential for a large part of the world. “The international community will have to make joint efforts for achieving the goals. It is our collective duty to make this world a better place to live”, he said.
Talking about Pakistan’s vision 2025, PM said that it is a practical step by Pakistan for achieving development goals. He said that effective measures need to be taken for dealing with the environmental changes. He further said that Pakistan is following UN’s agenda for dealing with the environmental changes.
