Three children among seven swept away in flood

A low flood hitting Rajanpur swept away as many as seven people including 3 children, Dunya News reported on Monday. Around 1 million people are feared to be affected due to the flood that entered Basti Moeesar. Several areas have been submerged as a low flood entered Roadkohi Kaha and Chachar which resulted into breaching of Chak Shaheed bund.On the other hand, breach in Mubarak Pur Canal deluged as many as 200 villages. According to Commissioner Dera Ghazai Khan, ripe crops on 10million acres, 1500 houses, 6 canals and three important roads have been destroyed due to floodwater. The locals held the government responsible for all the destruction, saying that the latter could have averted it with pre-empting the calamity. Meanwhile, MPA Sadiq Imrani visited the area and distributed edibles among the affectees.
