Summary The local government elections in Punjab and Sindh will be held in three phases.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has finalised new schedule of local government elections in Punjab and Sindh.
As per schedule, first phase of LB polls in both provinces will begin on October 31, second phase on October 19 and third phase on December 3.
According to ECP, schedule of first phase will be released on August 16. Nomination papers will be collected between September 7 -11 and scrutiny will take place from 13 to 18 August.
Appeals against returning officers’ decision could be filed till September 24 and verdict on appeals will be announced by September 30.
Final list of candidates will be announced on October 2 and polling in first phase will commence on October 31.
Schedule of second phase will be released on September 3 and schedule of third phase will be issued on September 21.
