Summary There is not one worker who does not bear torture marks after release, says Sattar
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Farooq Sattar on Wednesday has said that the party is being subjected to deprivation of political and democratic rights.
He expressed these views while addressing the National Assembly (NA) session today before handing over resignation.
He said that the party raised the issue before federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is being assisted in Karachi by the Rangers, he added.
Sattar said that middle class is being deprived of its role in democracy. He turned to NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and said that MQM is not getting justice from anywhere. He posed a question, whether the government would have maintained the same attitude if Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was targeted by the Rangers.
The MQM leader said that party workers’ houses are being raided. There is not one worker who does not bear torture marks after release, he added.
