PM adamant as party leaders call for de-seating PTI members
Members urge de-seating of PTI members in the meeting held by PM, PM refuses to accept suggestion
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Most members of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to get the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members de-seated. However, the Prime Minister refused to accept such suggestions and said that his political wisdom demands him to keep the PTI onboard, reported Dunya News.
According to the details, Prime Minister presided over a meeting of the PML-N members discussing on de-seating of the PTI members of the assembly. The meeting remained inconclusive however. Most of the members wanted the PTI members to be de-seated. They were of the view that PTI was still acting like they were on the container.
However, the senior leaders of the party suggested the PM to show statesmanship and said that they wanted good relations with the PTI. According to sources, it became difficult for the PM to make a decision.
On the other hand, PML-N has decided not to support the resolution demanding de-seating of the PTI members. Sources told Dunya News that the PML-N leadership wants to reconcile with the PTI. Moreover, they don’t want to take the trouble of by-elections at this time.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the government adhered to the promises made with the PTI and the people expressed their faith in the government. “Who am I to ask for an apology from anyone? Parliament will decide the fate of PTI members”, he said. He added that PTI and Imran Khan were embarrassed on various occasions but they didn’t learn from their mistakes.
