Summary Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique addressed a press conference in Lahore.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Monday said that some elements are creating negative propaganda against special Eid trains.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the minister clarified that special trains usually return empty and there is no fault in Pakistan Railways` planning.

A Special Eid train on Sunday reached Karachi from Lahore but carried only 7 passengers from Lahore and by the time it reached Khanewal, there were only 2 passengers left in the train.

Officials claimed that there were no bookings from Lahore but the number of passengers will increase as the train moves ahead.

To a question, Saad Rafique said that Pakistan Railways has enhanced its income at record level, while controlled its expenditures in recent years due to government successful measures.

He said that a huge reduction of fifty percent fares of special trains has been announced on 14th, 15th and 16th of this month to facilitate public on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

He said that the JIT report regarding railway accident near Wazirabad will be issued soon which will throw light over the real cause of the tragic accident.
