Rivers swell after heavy rains, another 20 villages inundated in Layyah
Water level in rivers is continuously rising.
(Web Desk) – Flood warnings remained in effect along rivers as heavy rain in recent weeks contributed to flood levels that ranged from minor to major in parts of the country.
Reportedly, another twenty villages in Layyah city near Chashma Barrage have been inundated due to rise in water level in Indus River. Hundreds of acres of land has been eroded due flood water while locals have moved to safer locations.
Water level is continuously rising at Guddu Barrage.
Authorities have opened 41 out of 52 spillways of Jinnah Barrage after increase in water inflow. There is flood-like situation in River Chenab at Head Panjnad, Head Taunsa and Head Qadirabad.

Residents have been warned to remain vigilant following rise in water level in Palkhu Nullah in Wazirabad.
There is also medium level flood in Kabul River at Warsak and Nowshera and River Panjgora at Dir.
