Summary

The Supreme Court on Monday has dismissed appeal of former IG Sindh Punjab Rana Maqbool filed against the decision of the Sindh High Court (SHC). Rana Maqbool filed a petition in the SC that he was involved in the case of attempt to murder to Asif Ali Zardari in the custody, so the Sindh High Courts decision to declare him a proclaim offender and hold a trial of him should be declared null and void. Maqbools advocate Akram Sheikh told the court that Rana Maqbool was involved in operation against MQM, and now a wave of target killings is being seen in the city, so his case should be transferred to some other court. A three-member bench of the SC dismissed the plea against Rana Maqbool due to delay in filing the petition and case being heard in Karachi court.
