ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arif Alvi on Thursday apologized for ’35 punctures’ remarks, stating that there were many rumous regarding source of the information.

The PTI leader posted a message on micro-blogging website Twitter: 

On the other hand, PTI Central Information Secretary Naeemul Haq stated that  `35 puncture`  story is correct. 

The PTI leaders remarks come a day after party chairman Imran Khan admitted that his claim of ’35 punctures’ was just a political statement. Khan said this during an interview with a private TV channel. 

The claim refers to alleged electoral rigging in 35 constituencies of Punjab during 2013 general elections.

The opposition party claimed that the then caretaker chief minister of Punjab Najam Sethi telephoned PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif on the election night and assured him that the “35 punctures” had been fixed.
