Karachi: Rains disrupt train service, KU postpones all papers

Sporadic downpours in various areas of Karachi have disrupted life across the city. Severe traffic jams and power outages were reported in many parts of the city as rain water caused a number of feeders to trip.As many as maximum rain, 43 mm, was recorded at Sharea Faisal.Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps in the wake of monsoon rains. Rains started this afternoon, totally disrupting the traffic system while many part of the city suffered power outages as, according to KESC, rain water caused 30 feeders to trip. Train service was also affected as heavy rains lashed the city.The University of Karachi has postponed all of its examinations papers, scheduled for Thursday.
