LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lawyers in Tehsil Bar have continued strike to mourn Daska tragedy on fourth day, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
At least two lawyers were killed on Monday in clashes with police when an anti-encroachment drive turned violent in Punjab province s Daska city, forcing authorities to deploy paramilitary forces to contain the unrest.
According to details, Punjab Bar Council appealed the lawyers to continue strike against Daska incident by boycotting the district courts.
On this call the lawyers have completely boycotted the subordinate courts in Lahore to record their protest against the killing of their fellow lawyers.
Meanwhile in Lahore High Court (LHC), judges have started hearings of major cases whereas investigating officers while taking records of various cases are appearing before the court in plain clothes.
However, the security arrangements of LHC and subordinate courts are in the hands of Rangers.
On the other hand, LHC bar has approved a lawyer’s panel to pursue the Daska incident.
The lawyer’s panel include vice chairman Pakistan Bar Council Azam Nazeer Tarar, Zahid Hussain Bukhari and Gulam Murtaza Chaudhry.
Moreover, a 40-member delegation will also visit a condolence reference in Daska today.
