Three hijackers among 8 death row convict executed

Eight death row prisoners, including three hijackers, were hanged in various cities on Thursday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Eight more death row prisoners, including three hijackers of a PIA plane, were handed in various jails of the country on early Thursday morning, Dunya News reported.

Death row prisoners Shahsawar and Sabir Baloch were hanged in Hyderabad Central Jail for hijacking a PIA flight from Turbat in 1998. The hijacked plane landed at Hyderabad where they were arrested. An anti terrorist court awarded death sentence to them on August 20, 1998. The third hijacker, Shabbir Baloch, was hanged in Karachi Central Jail.

Another death row prisoner, Mahmood was hanged in Karachi Central Jail. Mahmood was guilty of killing a minor boy in 2003.

Death row convict Akseer was hanged in Attock Central Jail. Akseer had killed Rizwan over a business dispute in 1998.

Death row prisoner Muhammad Ashraf was hanged in Sahiwal Central Jail in double murder case. Ashraf had killed Aslam and Ahmad Ali in 2000.

One death row convict was hanged in District Jail Sargodha. Prisoner Amir Abdullah had killed Wazir Khan in 2002.

Another death row prisoner was executed in Haripur Central Jail. Prisoner Khurram was sentenced to death in 1999 for killing his friend.
