Summary Reportedly, ECP withdrew the notice after Imran Khan stopped election campaign
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has withdrawn the notice summoning Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on May 21. PTI had demanded ECP to withdraw the notice after terming it an illegal attempt to prevent Imran Khan from going to the rallies.
According to details, ECP withdrew the notice after Imran Khan stopped election campaign.
Prior to this, a letter was sent to the ECP by PTI leader Jehangir Tareen in which it was stated that stopping Imran Khan from campaigning for local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is an illegal step and is against the constitution.
