Summary Mirza is in court for the last 9 hours; despite extension in bail, police not accepting court orders
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Karachi police have on Tuesday surrounded the court to arrest former Home Minister of Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza. Despite extension in Mirza’s bail by the court, police are not accepting court orders and he is still inside the court for the last 9 hours, surrounded by the police, reported Dunya News.
Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza appeared before the Anti-Terror Court (ATC) to get his bail extended. Tight security was observed on this occasion. When court staff tried to check Zulfiqar Mirza’s companion for security, the latter refused to enter into the court and also presented himself for the checking.
After short hearing, court extended Mirza’s bail by 30 days. However, his lawyer says that DIG Dr. Jamil has refused to receive the bail orders. Police have surrounded the ATC and an armored car is also present outside the court along with police commandos. No one is allowed to enter the court.
ATC has also received the written orders of Zulfiqar Mirza’s release from Sindh High Court. Additional Advocate General of Sindh had also assured the court that Mirza will not be arrested.
Zulfiqar Mirza and Abdul Samad of People’s Lawyers Forum also exchanged some harsh words when Mirza appeared before the court but the fellow lawyers handled the situation.
Cases against Zulfiqar Mirza and his aides had been registered in Badin last week.
