The Technical Committee of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations have finalized a strategy to jointly fight the menace of drug trafficking during its opening session. The second session will focus on combating terrorism and the SAARC member nations will exchange a list of wanted terrorist.The SAARC countries have vowed to step up efforts to fight all forms of terrorism, including its financing and associated drug trafficking and illicit arms trade.A session chaired by DG Narcotics Major General Shakil was held in Islamabad, the SAARC representatives agreed to enhance Border Control Management System, improve coordination between the Immigration Authorities and adopt state of the art mechanism to combat smuggling. Pakistan advocated to the need to improve the police departments in the SAARC member nations and suggested to share experiences with each other. The recommendations for the second session would be prepared in meeting to be chaired by DG National Crisis Management Cell Brigadier Javed Iqbal Lodhi.
