Musharraf granted one-day exemption in Judges' detention case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The anti-terrorist court (ATC) in Islamabad on Friday adjourned the hearing of judges’ detention case against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf till May 8 after accepting the plea of exemption from appearing before the court, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the hearing was held by ATC judge Sohail Akram.

While submitting Musharraf’s medical report in the court, his counsel stated that his client cannot attend the hearing due to ailment whereas he also has security concerns therefore; his client should be allowed one-day exemption.

On the other hand, public prosecutor Amir Nadeem Tabish argued that Musharraf has made a practice of not appearing in the court therefore; the court should immediately summon him.

The court accepted the exemption plea after the parties concluded their arguments and subsequently postponed the hearing till May 8.
