Mall Road protests: LHC summons reply of Chief Secretary Punjab, DCO, CCPO

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday has directed Chief Secretary Punjab, District Coordination Officer (DCO) and Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to submit their reply till May 19 regarding the petition filed against failure of halting protests on Mall Road despite court orders, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the petitioner adopted the stance that staging demonstrations on Mall Road are banned by the LHC whereas section-144 has also been imposed in this regard.

The petitioner also said that this step is against the orders of LHC therefore; action should be taken against those responsible for contempt of court.

The court after hearing the stance ordered Chief Secretary Punjab, DCO and CCPO to submit their reply till May 19.
