LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj ul Haq on Tuesday came out in support of incarcerated former President Morsi. Siraj ul Haq said that imprisonment of former Egypt President is highly condemnable.

In a statement, the JI chief said that Egypt’s so called justice system is a farce and is a slap on the face of all leaders of Muslim brotherhood.

Siraj ul Haq said that the silence of America and international human rights organizations on the sentencing of Morsi is shameful adding that Morsi was the president of an elected government and his ousting was unconstitutional.

Criticising the stance of Muslim world including Pakistan, the JI chief said that their silence on the issue is criminal.

Siraj ul Haq said that whenever a democratic leader is overthrown in a Muslim country, America and western countries support the coup which leads to frustration among populace of Muslim world.

He urged the leaders of democratic world and United Nations to take notice of the incident.
