Summary Rangers will keep an eye on the activities of voters and polling staff from monitoring rooms by CCTV

KARACHI (Dunya News) – NA-246 of Karachi is the center of attention these days due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat Islami (JI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) heated statements and political activities in the area.

Karachi police have made security plan for the election day and is using CCTV cameras to avoid any chance of rigging or terrorism. This is for the first time in the history of Pakistan that CCTV cameras will be used to monitor the whole processes of voting.

There will be monitoring rooms in all polling stations from where rangers and other related officials will keep an eye on the activities of the voters and polling staff by CCTV cameras. CCTV cameras will be installed inside and outside polling booths. A whole of 270 CCTV cameras have been installed in NA-246.

NA-246 consists of Liaqatabad Town and Gulberg Town. There are 40 polling stations in Gulberg Town while there are 15 polling stations in Liaqatabad Town.
