Summary Yemen conflict isn’t sectarian, Houthi rebels want to occupy Makkah, Medina, says JuD leader

PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Jamat-ud-Daawa (JuD) leader Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has on Sunday said that defending the holy cities of Makkah and Medina is the religious duty of every Muslim. He said that the Yemen conflict wasn’t a sectarian one. “Houthi rebels want to occupy Makkah and Medina”, said JuD leader.

Addressing Defence of Holy Cities Conference in Peshawar, Hafiz Saeed said that a unified line of action should be adopted by all Muslim countries on Yemen conflict. He said that the people will themselves come out for the defence of holy cities if they are informed about the threat to Makkah and Medina.

Hafiz Saeed said that it was the duty of the political parties to tell the people how Makkah and Medina are threatened by the Houthi rebels. He said that the United States was providing support to the Houthis. “They know that Makkah is the center of Islam so they want to occupy it for subduing the Muslims”, Hafiz Saeed added.
