ECP secretary chairs NA-246 by-election candidates' meeting

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) secretary on Saturday has reviewed the arrangements done for holding of by-election in the NA-246 constituency. A meeting of the by-election candidates is ongoing in the commission’s Sindh office.

According to the details, ECP secretary had reached Karachi on April 17 to review the arrangements for the election.

A meeting of the by-election candidates, Muttahida Qaumi Movement s (MQM) Kanwar Naveed, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf s (PTI) Imran Ismail and Jamaat-e-Islami s (JI) Rashid Naseem is ongoing in the Sindh office of the ECP. Babar Yaqoob, ECP secretary is chairing the meeting. The agenda of the meeting is to ensure following of the electoral code throughout the process. Sindh chief secretary Muhammad Siddique Memon, Sindh Inspector General (IG) Ghulam Thebo, Rangers high-ranked officials and other are attending the meeting.

At least 400,000 ballot papers have been printed for the by-election which will be handed over to the returning officers (ROs) by the Pakistan Army. The ballots were printed under the supervision of the Pakistan Rangers.
