Summary Rangers will be deployed to serve their duties on April 23.

KARACHI (Daily Dunya) Preparations for the upcoming by-elections in NA-246 constituency, due on April 23, are underway in Karachi as district government on the orders of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ensured the arrangements.

As many as 3 lac 59 thousands ballot papers have been printed under the supervision of Rangers however, electoral retiring officer has also been shifted to their respective polling stations.

All the enhanced measurements and security arrangements are likely to be discussed in a meeting with Secretary ECP that would be held today at 11pm.

All the 213 polling stations, 15 for men, 15 for women and 183 would be joint, have been declared sensitive for this purpose, 16 police officers and 16 Rangers personnel would be deployed at every polling station. To avoid any alarming situation, Rangers officers would continuously stage patrolling.

All the electoral equipments including ballot papers and official stamps would be handed over to the retiring officer on April 22.
