LAHORE (Dunya News) – A dacoit was killed in an alleged police encounter in Johar Town area of Lahore. The Superintendent of Police (SP) was injured during the clash.
According to the police, 2 suspects on motorbike stole a car from a citizen near Shaukat Khanum area and fled. SP Chung Irfan Sumo established a barricade at Ayub Chowk to catch the suspects. When the stolen vehicle was sginalled to stop, the suspects opened fire on the police.
One suspect was killed by the returning fire from the police, while the other suspect fled using the cover of darkness.
SP Chung was hit by a bullet in the leg during the exchange of fire. He was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for first aid treatment.
