Arif Alvi suggests to deposit 'absent' MNAs' salaries in SKMH fund

Summary Arif Alvi has recommended that the amount should be submitted in the SKMH fund.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is reviewing options that what step should be taken over seven-month salaries of members of the National Assembly (MNAs) who remained absent in protest against alleged rigging in 2013 general elections, Dunya News reported.

According to sources, senior party leader Arif Alvi has forwarded his suggestion to Imran Khan and all the party members.

Arif Alvi has asked that PTI lawmakers remained absent for seven months so would it be appropriate to take salaries or not.

He recommended that the amount should be submitted in the SKMH fund.

Earlier on Saturday, the National Assembly Secretariat finalized paperwork for payment of salaries to PTI members.  According to sources, total payment is estimated to be around Rs12.636 million and each member will get Rs469,000.

PTI legislators returned to Parliament last after a boycott of nearly eight months as the government accepted Imran Khan`s demand of a judicial commission to probe alleged rigging in the 2013 general election.

The party had boycotted parliament and occupied part of the capital during months-long street protests last year over alleged election rigging.
