Elimination of corruption vital for uplift: Shahbaz

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that no development is possible sans elimination of corruption from the country. During a meeting with the members of Punjab Assembly at CM House in Lahore on Saturday, Shahbaz said that this year Rs 52billion have been earmarked for south Punjab. He maintained that the provincial budget reflected the public sentiments, and added that Rs 193billion have been earmarked for uplift schemes.He said that efforts are on to create a corruption free culture in the province, while resources are being used transparently for public development. The CM directed the elected representatives to monitor the uplift plans and ensure their completion at the stipulated time.
