KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) workers clashed on Friday night after a face off during the NA-246 election campaign in Karachi’s Karimabad area. Both parties shouted slogans against each other during the clash. PTI’s camp for the election campaign was uprooted by enraged workers as tensions rose. Police have arrested 8 individuals in this regard.
According to the details, police finally went into action and baton charged to disperse the hostile crowd. MQM leaders Haider Abbas Rizvi, Khalid Maqbool Siddique and Kanwar Naveed Siddique also reached the site of the clash after the uprooting incident. They appealed to the MQM workers to remain peaceful.
PTI workers finally moved from the area whereas MQM workers remained in the Karimabad area in large numbers.
MQM’s leader Dr. Farooq Sattar also reached Karimabad and advised MQM workers to keep their emotions in control.

MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain expressed his sorrow over the event. Hussain advised the public to observe patience. Hussain also advised that the public should not carry out any activity which further aggravates the situation. He also advised MQM leaders to play their part in maintaining peace.
