PM Nawaz meets Turkish counterpart in Ankara

Summary Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in Turkey to discuss Middle East situation.

ANKARA (Web Desk) -  Prime Minister NawazSharif has met Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu at Cankaya Palace in Ankara on Friday.

"The main purpose of Sharif s visit is to consult Turkey on the current crisis in the Middle East," said a statement from the Prime Minister`s Office.

Later, he will also hold meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The prime minister said before leaving Pakistan that he believes in peaceful resolution to the crisis and hoped to promote unity among Muslim nations.

"I hope my efforts would result in promoting harmony and stability in the Middle East," he said.

Accompanying Sharif are National Security and Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry.
