Afzal Rizvi detention: LHC summons CPO, DCO on March 20

Summary Judge regretted over the government's decision of Rizvi's house arrest.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned Chief Capital City Police Officer (CPO) and District Coordination Officer (DCO) Faisalabad on March 20 on the plea filed against house confinement of Tehreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran’s leader Afzal Rizvi, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

During the hearing, Kubra Rizvi on the behalf of lawyer Ishtiaq Chaudhry told the court that Afzal Rizvi was detained on the orders of Faisalabad police however, Punjab government had also awarded him with a prize over his peace services.

Listening the arguments of petitioner, judge regretted over the government s decision of Rizvi s house arrest.  

Subsequently, LHC adjourned the hearing by calling on CCPO and DCO Faislabad on March 20
