Summary PPP, MQM leaders talked to each other, discussed working relationship between the parties

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday and discussed the current political situation and the working relationship between the two parties. Asif Zardari said that both the parties will continue serving the people of Pakistan, Dunya News reported.

Altaf Hussain said on this occasion that MQM will continue its peaceful struggle for the attainment of public rights. Both leaders agreed that the conciliation between the two parties would be good for the people of Sindh.

Earlier, Asif Zardari hosted a lunch at Bilawal House Karachi for the members of the Sindh Assembly which was attended by the PPP members of the Sindh Assembly. The lunch was attended by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, MPA Faryal Talpur and Sherry Rehman as well.

Dunya News sources claim that while addressing the members at the lunch, Zardari said that the MQM had voted for PPP candidate in Senate election and not helping them now would be betrayal. However, when he asked the members about what they ought to do about MQM, the members fell silent. “Should I consider your silence as agreement?” Zardari asked. Then turning to Nadir Magsi, he asked if he would say something about MQM. Responding to Zardari’s inquiry, Nadir Magsi said that the promises made with the MQM must be fulfilled.

According to the sources, former President of Pakistan has tasked Murad Ali Shah to set up a committee for talks with MQM.
