KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh Minister for Information and Local Bodies Sharjeel Memon on Tuesday has said that the Chief Minister (CM) has the authority to appoint him as interior minister after bringing specific changes in the cabinet but he is not doing so. The government can save reserves worth crores if it fires ghost employees.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the Clean and Peaceful Sindh ceremony in North Nazimabad.
He said that the number of target killing and criminal cases have decreased in the city. While answering a question, he said that the Sindh CM has the authority to bring changes in the cabinet but so far there has been no progress towards making him interior minister. He said that several ghost employees are getting salaries from more than four departments.
Memon urged the government to take action against encroachments in Gujjar Nullah. He said that the CM has issued directives to increase the security of churches in the province.
