NANKANA SAHIB: (Dunya News) – The process of polling for By-elections in NA-137, Nankana Sahib, is underway, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

The seat was vacated after the demise of Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Rai Mansab Ali Khan. Ten candidates are going to contest the election.

PML-N has awarded the ticket to Rai Mansab Ali Khan’s daughter Dr. Sahzra Mansab. Independent candidate Brigadier (r) Ijaz Shah enjoys the support of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) while Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has awarded the ticket to Shahjehan Bhatti.

Total registered voters in this constituency are 287,719 for which 256 polling stations have been set up.

Voting will continue till 5pm without any break.

Moreover, 48 polling stations have been declared as sensitive due to threat of violence whereas 1,129 police officials and two teams of Rangers have been posted to deal with any unwanted situation.
