Summary Sindh Assembly adopted the resolution against illegal construction of skyscrapers in Karachi
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Sindh Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution against illegal construction of tall, multi-storey buildings in Karachi. The assembly also adopted the resolution about increasing the number of NADRA offices throughout the provinces, Dunya News reported.
Sindh Assembly’s session was conducted under the headship of acting Speaker Syeda Shehla Raza. Pakistan Muslim League – Functional (PML-F) legislator Nand Kumar tabled a resolution against not buying wheat from the farmers at government rates and not providing sacks to the farmers. This resolution was also passed by the assembly.
Answering the questions, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sikandar Meindro said that 127 technical centers for women are operating throughout the province. Minister for Local Bodies Sharjeel Memon said that local bodies were ruined because of unchecked power exercised by them. He said that land was distributed among favorites by the Nazims.
The session rejected the resolution tabled by Opposition Leader in favor of stopping the misuse of local bodies’ funds after hearing the speech by Sharjeel Memon.
The session was then postponed till Wednesday morning.
