Pakistan People's Party has allotted Senate ticket for the adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and he is expected to be named minister finance for the seat vacated by former finance minister Shaukat Tareen. Hafeez Sheikh is also expected to present the upcoming budget in the parliament to be presented on June 9. Dr. Hafeez would file his nomination papers on Firday. PPP leaders in Sindh have started contacts with allies for election of Sheikh without contest.Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, a Ph.D in Economics, has authored many publications. He worked at World Bank, where he was country head for Saudi Arabia and as a senior official advised 21 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.It is pertinent to mention that during three years as the Federal Minister for Privatization & Investment Hafeez Sheikh managed to successfully privatize the national carrier PTCL.
