Terming the fake degrees issue significant, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Thursday said that only Election Commission is authorized to decide whether the degree is fake or not and added that no precondition of graduation to contest polls is found in the civilized world. Addressing the National Assembly, he said many degrees were challenged in 2002, the verdict on them, has not been made thus far.The Parliament is being humiliated with the row over degrees, the annoyed PM said. He maintained that the degree condition was imposed just to keep Nawabzada Nasrullah away from the House. Referring to Jamshed Dasti, the PM said that he accepted his Partys decision. He said that the parliament is supreme and not a rubber stamp institution. He also called on the parliamentarians to help strengthen the Parliament.
