Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said that PPP has always rejected deals and back doors and came into power only with the support of the people. Addressing a big gathering of people at Faisal Stadium in Muzaffargarh in support of Jamshed Dasti who was declared ineligible by the Supreme Court recently, the PM said that the government would complete its tenure and those who are in a hurry to come into power should wait. He said that Benazir Bhutto had given the ticket to Jamshed Dasti to contest the last general elections which he had won. He added that later his brother also desired to contest from NA-178 Muzaffargarh constituency in the by-polls but the party decided to award the ticket to a worker i.e Jamshed Ahmad Khan Dasti. The PM said that the PPP ticket holder Jamshed Ahmad Dasti is a true representative of the poor labourers and the impoverished, and the people should support him in by-elections. National Assemblys Standing Committee on Sports Chairman Jamshed Dasti had resigned from his seat in front of the Supreme Court (SC) due to his fake MA Islamiat degree. Meanwhile, the police broke the teeth of an opponent independent candidate in Muzaffargarh. Candidate Anwarul Kareem Barki was leading an election rally. Police asked him to disperse the rally. Afterwards, he was beaten up and arrested by the police and shifted to jail.
