LAHORE (Web Desk) – Citizens are already facing gas and water crisis in the city and now fuel shortage has added to woes of the masses.

Amid drastic shortage of fuel in the provincial capital, a lawyer has purchased a bicycle to deal with the worsening situation

Talking to Dunya News, lawyer Ishtiaq Chaudhry has suggested his fellow citizens to get a bicycle instead of hunting for the fuel. Plus, it will save money and improve health.

“I sold my car when they (government) suspended CNG supply and I started using the motorbike. As fuel shortage worsened, I decided to buy this bicycle for Rs. 9000 to reach court on time,” Chaudhry said.

According to the authorities, fuel supply is expected to resume from Saturday or Sunday.

On Thursday, the Finance Ministry sources told Dunya News that the government has issued at least Rs 17.5 billion to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) on emergency basis to contain the petrol shortage. Moreover, the PSO administration had asked the government to provide at least Rs 80 billion on immediate basis.

According to sources, PSO owes at least Rs 215 billion to the power sector and other government institutions. Furthermore, the government is likely to provide more funds to PSO in the coming days.
