Federal Secretary Law Justice (retd) Aaqil Mirza has resigned from his post. Mirza sent his resignation to the Prime Minister in which he has reportedly cited his health woes as the major cause of the decision.Justice Aaqil Mirza speaking to Dunya News said that he was ill and it was beyond his capacity to fulfill his responsibilities and duties. He said that he would focus on his personal health after his resignation.The Law Ministry has been shocked by the development. According to sources said Aaqil Mirza tendered his resignation due to the differences with Law Minister Babar Awan over NRO issue.It is pertinent to note that due to the differences with the government in NRO cases, Attorney General Anwar Mansoor and Joint Secretary Akbar Khan Achakzai have already resigned while Secretary Parliamentary Affairs Muhammad Ghazanfar and Secretary Law Riaz Kiyani have changed their departments.Moreover, the resignation of Aaqil Mirza came days after Attorney General quoted him saying before the Supreme Court that Swiss cases now was a closed chapter and there was no need to write any letter in this regard.The employees at the Law Ministry are facing severe difficulties owing to differences between the Supreme Court and Government on NRO verdict.
