22 injured in bus-train collision in Layyah
The injured faced difficulties in treatment due to the absence of doctors.
LAYYAH (Dunya News) – At least 22 people were injured in a collision between passenger bus and train engine at Karor Lal Esan transient gate in Layyah on Saturday.
The incident took place when a bus collided with a train engine while crossing the railway track through the opened transient gate.
The injured were shifted to the Tehsil Hospital Lal Esan for medical assistance; however, the injured people have faced difficulties in treatment due to the unavailability of medical staff.
Sources revealed the railway administration’s negligence behind the accident as the transient gate was kept open when the engine was crossing the railway track.
Meanwhile, the fog has also affected the rescue work at the railway station.
Moreover, in another accident a passenger bus fell into the deep ditch on Saturday leaving six injured and one dead.
The passenger bus was moving from Chakwal to Pind Dadan Khan when it fell into the deep ditch due to the dense fog. The six injured were referred to the Rawalpindi hospital where two passengers have been reported in critical state.
