ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)— The National Assembly (NA) in its session on Tuesday jointly adopted 21st amendment in the constitution in Islamabad.
The 21st constitutional amendment bill aims to set up special trial courts to try terrorists.
245 members of the National Assembly voted in favor of the bill. Sheikh Rasheed, Jamat-e-Islami and Jamiat Ullema-e-Islam were not present in the National Assembly and abstained from voting for the bill. The clause-wise amendment is currently being voted upon in NA.
The 21st Amendment Bill 2015 was tabled in the National Assembly by Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Senator Pervaiz Rashid in the presence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday.
