Faisalabad torture: CJ directs IGP to book involved cops

Chief Justice Iftikar Muhammad Chaudhry Monday ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab to book the officials involved in the Faisalabad torture case. During the hearing of a suo moto notice of the footage that showed some police personnel torturing a woman namely Dr Abida Hameed in Faisalabad.The CJ upbraided the IG, who was summoned in the court. The CJ while rebuking the IG said, You vowed to end the police torture but now you have started manhandling woman instead of man.A video of police torture on the lady Doctor, Abida Hameed, surfaced last day. The video is almost two years old. Dr Abida was tortured in police station and on road brutally. Dr Abida wanted to register a case against the theft but the police instead apprehended and tortured her.
