A woman was flogged during the presence of high rank officials in the Civil Line Police Station Faisalabad. The officers present at the scene were laughing.The footage captured with a cell phone camera was received by Dunya News, sparking anger in the country where police are routinely accused of corruption and abuse. The video allegedly showed one officer publicly beating the lady with a hefty leather strap as the other lady constable held down the victims. Lady constables present on duty dragged the lady on the floor, DSP Tasleem Sabir, SHO Women Police Station Zahida Perveen, SHO Civil Line Nasrullaha Niazai and other police officers kept seated and did nothing to stop the floggers.The lady victim is identified as Dr Abida who is member of Pakistan Muslim League-N Punjab wing. Dr Abida accused the alleged involvement of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. Appropriate legal action would be taken: Rana SanaullahPunjab's law minister, Rana Sanaullah, speaking to Dunya News assured countrymen that appropriate legal action will be taken after inquiry and there is no room for ill discipline in Punjab Police and such officers will not remain in the police force.
