ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Motorway Police on Saturday have decided not to close motorway due to dense fog whereas Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued a new schedule of flight operation.
Dense fog has blanketed the plain areas of Punjab and this bad weather has disrupted the traffic system and flight operation as well.
Thick fog has been reported at Motorway M2 from Pindi Bhattian to Lahore and from Islamabad to Chakri whereas motorway police have decided not to close Motorway.
As per details, the vehicles would be moved in the form of groups in severe fog following the mobiles of motorway police.
Motorway Police Inspector General (IG) Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema stated that the motorway would not be closed at any cost.
On the other hand, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has issued a new schedule for its flight operation due to dense fog in Punjab. According to the schedule, PIA has grounded the flight operation of Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan until December 31.
Moreover, as many as 17 people have died in road accidents due to dense fog in different areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and dozens have been injured.
