Thar famine claims three more lives
No facilities have been provided to the victims of Thar to prevent further deaths.
THARPARKAR (Dunya News) – At least three more children died due to Thar famine on Monday raising the death toll to 146, Dunya News reported.
Lack of sufficient facilities in Thar hospitals and dried water wells have continued to take lives of little children.
The famine victims have given up their patience and are continuously asking for help.
The government has also failed to deal with this critical situation of dearth-struck famine.
Earlier, famine engulfed three more lives in Thar rising the death toll to 136 in a span of 59 days.
Two children were shifted to Hyderabad in the wake of their critical condition. According Mithi administration the increased rate of deaths is caused by malnutrition and lack of vaccination.
The continuously dropping temperature caused pneumonia while insufficient warm clothing added to the misery of dearth-struck people of Thar.
More than 25 children are being treated at the hospital whereas the number of beds is not enough to accommodate the affected people causing them to wait in the corridors for the beds to vacate.
