'Dimagh ki dahi' entices commotion in Sindh Assembly
Shehla Raza used the phrase 'Dimagh ki dahi' while addressing MQM's Muhammad Husain on Tuesday.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Uproar burst in Sindh Assembly once again, on Friday, when speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj departed for a while and deputy speaker Shehla Raza took the charge.
Members of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) began to chant ‘Go Shehla Go’ slogans over the usage of phrase ‘Dimagh ki dahi’ by her while addressing MQM’s lawmaker Muhammad Husain in the session on Tuesday.
MQM stipulated Shehla Raza to admit that ‘Dimagh ki dahi’ is an inapt term whereas Shehla Raza was adamant that ‘Dimagh ki dahi’ is not at all inappropriate to be used in the house.
In the realm of this commotion, deputy speaker suggested members of MQM to have water and lassi (a drink derived from yogurt) but the sloganeering continued.
Agha Siraj returned after a while quibbling he could have been allowed to sip a cup of tea.
Shehla Raza came back to the house as was greeted with desk-thumping of the government members.
Dimag ki dahi is a term generally used when someone is exasperated with someone else s demeanor or dictition.
